| I accept responsibility for the quality of work I deliver, even when that work has been subcontracted

| I do not attempt to change, after work has begun, agreed-upon terms (except by mutual consultation)

| I do everything possible to meet agreed-upon terms, even when unforeseen problems are encountered

| I do not directly contact end clients, or subcontractors, without permission
|
| I attempt to resolve disputes directly among parties involved

| I strive to continually improve my own skills
|
| I do not unjustly criticize other professionals or their work

| I agree, before work starts, what is to be delivered, as well as how, when, and who will bear any delivery cost

| I agree, before work starts, on payment amount, timing and currency, and who will bear any payment cost

| I proofread all my translations thoroughly before returning them to clients
|
| I work over numerous reference materials and dictionaries to find the full and correct meaning of terms used in the source text
|
| I use on-line searches and collate the found data with information in published materials
|
| I format all translations so that the finished translated document has the same layout as the original, if other is not required
|
| I contact clients if I need clarifications
|

| I ask for clarification, and give it, when appropriate, making clear when I am speaking and not interpreting

| I never interject my own feelings, opinions or advice
|
| I interact with others only to the extent required to interpret
